WBPDCL plans 660 MW power project in Sagardighi

West Bengal Power Development Corp Ltd is planning to set up its fifth unit in Manigram village in Sagardighi in Mushirabad district of West Bengal. The project involves setting up of a 660 MW which will be run on bituminous coal. As of December 2018, the company has awarded the BTG contract to BHEL Ltd for a sum of ₹ 35,000 million.

The scope of work involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of the main plant turnkey package, comprising supercritical boiler and turbine generator along with its auxiliaries, coal handling plant and ash handling plant.
